The alternative on short distances
When working on and in the track, it is not uncommon for continuous material movement to occur. With the help of flexible machine technology, the Wiebe Group also strives to optimise this process so that there are no gaps in work.
In this respect, the MFS 40/4-ZW-B fully organizes the work material. It is used in the trackless construction site area to excavate the entire superstructure material. If it is presented with an MFS or a protective car with support block for protruding swivel belt, it can be adjusted into trains thanks to its bogies.
Easy access
The MFS 40/4-ZW-B can already carry out material transport outside the internal machine work process. Thanks to two crawler chassis, it can move independently in the construction site area and drive into construction pits. Its excavator, which is located in the area of the loading belt, enables material to be picked up directly via the loading belt. By means of an automatic switch position provided for this purpose, the subsequent transport to the high-speed silo belt takes place.
The advantages at a glance:
- Excavator for independent material pick-up
- Adjustment in trains by bogies
- Crawler undercarriages for driving on excavation pits
- Various automatic presets
- Own energy supply unit
- Minimum track radius of 150 meters

Nowadays, machines and wagons for transporting and storing ballast and overburden are more than just storage containers – they make a significant contribution to the smooth workflow of track work.
For example, the “LOAD” and “UNLOAD” automatic presets of the MFS 40/4-ZW-B ensure uninterrupted operation and constant material supply. The independent driving of construction pits and the adjustability into the train make it an important component in a wide variety of track work.
