With the expansion of the rail-based infrastructure, the number of intersections in the form of points is also increasing continuously. To ensure that these points in the track network can withstand the high loads of freight and passenger traffic, increasingly heavy elements are being installed.

Especially high-speed turnouts or those with narrower radii have a large running meter weight. Optimal tamping of the switches is therefore indispensable – and can be easily carried out with the high-performance WSM 08-275 3SY switch tamping machine. This also applies to small radii. The high loads are thus absorbed by high switch stability.

With the help of this machine, the Wiebe Group ensures that the synchronous tamping and compacting of points of all sleeper types can be realised: Thanks to the high-performance WSM 08-275 3SY turnout tamping leveler, the material-friendly and quality-assuring three-strand lifting and tamping can also be used in Y-threshold track and soaking systems.

Due to the branched track structure, the tamping of soaking systems represents a particular challenge in track construction. With the WSM 08-275 3SY, however, we are able to master this task in the best quality.

To ensure that all types of sleepers – including Y-sleepers – can be lifted and plugged, the group of companies owns two special machines, both of which use modern three-strand lifting. Together with various systems and techniques for measurement and individual adjustment, the best tamping results are achieved.
