Renovation of the Hanover – Göttingen high-speed line

Renewed north-south axis

The comprehensive renovation of the 327-kilometre-long north-south connection completed its first implementation phase in 2019. With appropriate large-scale machine technology and digitally optimised workflows, the rehabilitation work on the 89-kilometre-long Hanover – Göttingen section was completed in six months. The track bed was partially completely renewed and old ballast was recycled in a resource-saving way.
Outside the tunnel sections, two ballast cleaning machines and track reconstruction trains supported the rehabilitation work. We carried out the removal of old material with the help of our own MFS wagons. In addition, the GPS-supported networking of up to 70 machines facilitated logistical planning and guaranteed a smooth work process.

Although the three municipalities may be close to each other, it is still important to ensure a smooth networking of the people in the region.

As a track construction specialist, it does not matter to us whether the route to be worked on is long-distance or regional: the track remains the track. And since rail transport plays an important role in passenger and goods transport in the long term, the best quality is the absolute standard in each of our projects. The special feature here: Our new Stopfexpress 09-3X, which we received at the iaf 2017, celebrated its first use here.
