Ballast levelling and profiling machines

The ballast levelling and profiling machines of the series SSP 110 SW from the company Plasser & Theurer are all important high-performance ballast levelling machines belong to the Wiebe Group. Each of them has a steep conveyor belt and a ballast silo, and also an automatic swivel limiter for the shoulder ploughs. They are also suitable for use on tracks and switches.

The SSP 110 SW No. 850 is also approved for steep sections.

The track stabilisation works like the ballast bed that is actually used: different parts interlock at points of contact so form an homogenous structure.

One of these parts of the above-mentioned track stabilisation involves ballast levelling because safe operations on railway tracks needs a stable but flexible ballast bed. To achieve this, the ballast needs to be distributed and brought into the tamping zone – we can complete this task easily using the ballast ploughs of the series SSP 110 SW – even on steep sections.
